The MOST IMPERFECT Photoshoot

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a photoshoot? We wanted to share the real and chaotic mess that was...the most IMPERFECT PHOTOSHOOT for an Apparel Brand!

Setting the Stage

The first step in any photoshoot is setting the stage. This involves scouting locations, arranging props, and ensuring the lighting is just right, sorta.

We specifically wanted this to be a little messed up and NOT PERFECT. So we brought in dads that help build our brand, which have zero photography experience, plus we wanted their kids to make an absolute mess - cause that's Dad Life man!

Strike a Pose

We wanted each shot to look authentic, so we didn't script anything or set up a shot list. It's just dads and kids, doing what they do best and we told our photographer to capture everything...

🤩which he did, over 667 photos...all of them are gold!

Capturing Moments

From hero shots, to candids, it was important that this didn't feel like your average dad apparel brand - because we ARE definitely not. 

We build this brand for the dads that SHOW UP, not SHOW OFF. 
So our photos needed to capsulate that...

Editing Magic

After the photoshoot wraps up, the real magic happens behind the computer screen. Our guys got to work, putting together little touches here and there to highlight key moments BUT we also wanted to kept the photos where not everyone is smiling (aka being perfect), we want chaos and imperfection... that's where the beauty lies.

*just like in Fatherhood.

Finally, weeks of planning, gathering props, organize this with dads in a group chat and putting together the right equipment - we wrapped the shoot in less than 4 hours and not to toot our own horn but they look pretty fu*kin sick!
