5 Things That Make Boomer Parents Roll Their Eyes
Share
As a modern dad, breaking away from traditional parenting norms can feel like embarking on a daring adventure. The old-school ways of our boomer dads may have worked in their time, but it's time to shake things up and pave a new path.

Here are 5 things I do as a dad that would make most boomer dads roll his eyes:
1. Embracing Vulnerability
Gone are the days of stoic, emotionless father figures. I'm not afraid to show my kids that it's okay to express their feelings and vulnerabilities. By being open and honest about my own emotions, I'm teaching them the power of emotional intelligence and empathy.
2. Sharing Household Responsibilities
No more sitting back and expecting mom to handle all the household chores. I roll up my sleeves and dive into the dishes, laundry, and cooking with gusto. By sharing the workload, I'm setting an example of equality and teamwork for my kids.

3. Encouraging Creativity
Instead of pushing my kids towards traditional career paths, I encourage them to explore their creative passions. Whether it's painting, writing, or music, I support their artistic endeavors and nurture their imagination. Who knows, maybe I have a future Picasso or Shakespeare in the making!
4. Prioritizing Self-Care
Gone are the days of sacrificing my own well-being for the sake of my family. I make self-care a priority, whether it's hitting the gym, meditating, or indulging in a hobby. By taking care of myself, I'm showing my kids the importance of self-love and personal growth.
5. Embracing Change and Growth
I don't shy away from change; I embrace it with open arms. Whether it's trying out new parenting techniques, learning from my mistakes, or adapting to the ever-evolving world, I show my kids that growth comes from stepping out of your comfort zone. After all, life is an adventure, and I'm ready to take on whatever challenges come my way.
So, to all the boomer dads out there shaking their heads at the unconventional parenting style some millennial parents do, I say bring it on!
We may be breaking the mold, but we're doing it with love, courage, and a sense of adventure that will shape our kids into resilient, open-minded individuals ready to take on the world...
Keep showing up dads!
